That’s how he got the role

Scenario

A maniac named Art the Clown terrorizes two friends on Halloween and anyone else who gets in his way. David Howard Thornton was the sixth person to audition for Art the Clown after Mike Giannelli quit the role and his acting career. During the audition, he started out miming tasting the blood of his decapitated victim, but then added salt to it to make it taste better.

Coroner: Honey, I’ve been doing this for twenty-two years, okay?

In the shots where Tara is gagged with duct tape, the tape clearly doesn’t touch the bottom of her mouth in some early shots while it’s tight around both of her lips in other shots.
