Gary Oldman was originally rumored to be cast by Kevin Kline

Scenario

It follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a television documentary journalist whose work is based on exposing wrongdoing by long-respected institutions. Dang! When I started watching this AppleTV+ limited series starring Cate Blanchett and Kevin Klein, I didn’t know what I was in for.

It is basically a revenge story

"Disclaimer" The film is based on the novel of the same name by René Knight and is written and directed by Alfonso Cuaron. Blanchett plays Catherine, a journalist whose secrets from her past come unsettlingly to the fore, and she must confront her past as it destroys her entire life. It was a masterfully told story that took us on an exciting journey of discovery as the audience was shown (sometimes in vivid detail) the "events" About Katrina’s past.

Blanchett is fantastic here, as always, and Kline gives a solid performance as well

It was surprising to see Sacha Baron Cohen in a more serious role, but he did it justice. Despite the minor quibbles, I highly recommend this series if you like character dramas with some tension/intrigue. Note.

There are some pretty graphic depictions of sex/intimacy in various episodes. It’s not action-packed, and it took about half an episode (about 30 minutes) for me to finally “get hooked”; to the story. But boy am I glad I stayed.
