John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to "forget" his Montana accent and reverts to the SoCal speaking voice he normally uses.. I live in Darby, MT where most of this was filmed – just yesterday they were filming right across the street from me in a field with some horses and cattle.

I believe that the series is a pretty solid story, and in a niche where Costner does his best

One thing I noticed about the first season, given my half-Indian side, is that you wonder who are the good guys and who are the bad guys – maybe both sides are both good and bad. I will admit that it is nice to see them filming as the ranch here is just down the road from me and I pass by almost daily on my way to fish the Bitterroot River.
